Government Graduate College, Attock is counted among Pakistan's most prominent and historic educational institutions. It is the only educational institution in Pakistan to have progressed step by step — as a Primary School (1904), Middle School (1908), Middle Standard Teachers' Training Normal School / Secondary School (1912), Intermediate College (1924), Post-Matric Clerical School (1939), and Degree College (1942), before becoming a Post-Graduate College in 1992. In 2021, under Punjab's new education policy, colleges offering BS programs were designated as Graduate Colleges; accordingly, this college became Government Graduate College, Attock.
